The RBOC Advisory Committee

Response to Industry

RBOC is responding to the interest of members of the boating industry who desire to add their support and participation to RBOC’s advocacy efforts on behalf of California boaters. Our new sponsorship and advisory committee program provides for direct involvement in our efforts together with recognition in RBOC’s website and publications.

RBOC’s pro-active advocacy efforts before state government would not be possible without the generous support we receive. Over 46 years of voluntary contributions have enabled RBOC to become the respected and effective state lobbying organization for California boaters – but we can do more!

The number and importance of issues facing recreational boaters in California are growing. Our ability to keep up with the legislative and regulatory changes that can adversely impact boating in California depends on the support of businesses, like yours, that depend on a healthy and growing recreational boating community.

About the RBOC Advisory Committee

RBOC has established an Advisory Committee comprised of business entities that sponsor the organization. The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to provide input, advice and counsel to the Board of Directors in furtherance of the objectives of the organization. The Boat Owners Association of the United States [BoatUS] is already a participant on the Advisory Committee.

The RBOC Board of Directors process for the selection of Advisory Committee participants is:

  • The Board approves the sponsorship of the business and its participation on the Advisory Committee on at least an annual basis.

  • The business becomes a sponsor by providing a monetary contribution to the organization in an amount approved by the Board on at least an annual basis.

  • The Board determines that the interests of the business are consistent with the purposes of the organization.

Businesses sponsoring RBOC and participating on the Advisory Committee do so at their own expense. [There is no membership or ownership interest or voting rights.]
